Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we most often receive from first-time patients.

About language

Is it okay if I can't speak Japanese well?

Yes, please rest assured. For English, our director and staff respond directly. For other languages, we arrange interpreters so we can accurately understand your symptoms and concerns.

Which languages do you support?

English is handled directly by our in-house staff. Consultations are also available in Japanese, Chinese, and Portuguese. If you’d like another language, please let us know in advance and we’ll make arrangements.

From what age do you see children?

We treat adults, of course, and also cover pediatric care. Based on Japanese guidelines, online consultations are available for children from 4 months of age.

About fees & insurance

Can I use Japanese health insurance?

Yes, you can. We accept Japanese National Health Insurance and Social Insurance.

If you do not have a Japanese insurance card (such as visitors from abroad), care will be out-of-pocket, but we can issue the medical certificates and documents needed for an overseas travel insurance claim.

About how much does a consultation cost?

It varies depending on the type of care (online or in person, insured or out-of-pocket). For out-of-pocket services (such as house calls and vaccinations), we provide a clear price list in advance.

What payment methods do you accept?

For both in-person clinic visits and online consultations, we accept cash and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard). (For house calls, only advance payment by credit card is available.)

I'm worried about whether I can handle the fees and insurance procedures smoothly…

It’s completely natural to feel that way. “How much will it cost?” and “Can I really get through the procedures smoothly in my own language?” are the two things first-time patients worry about most. So that you’re never surprised by unexpected costs after your consultation, we’ll honestly explain the estimated fees beforehand—so please don’t hesitate to ask.

About booking & your first visit

How do I make a booking?

If you have LINE and a web browser—which you likely use every day—everything from booking to consultation can be completed with them.

We’ll assist you in your preferred language and arrange a date and time that works for you.

>Book a consultation

Is there anything I need to prepare for an online consultation?

Please have a device that can make video calls, such as a smartphone or computer with a camera, and a stable internet connection. If you have Japanese health insurance, please also have your insurance card and an ID (such as a residence card) on hand.

Where does the consultation take place?

Most consultations begin online (via video call). If the doctor determines that an in-person examination is necessary, we’ll guide you to our clinic in Atsuta-ku, Nagoya. For those who find it difficult to visit, or for travelers, we also offer house calls to your location.

If I book, will there be no wait time?

Both online and in-person consultations are by appointment. Because we begin your consultation at the scheduled time, there’s no need to wait a long time in a waiting room.

About medication & medical certificates

How do I receive prescribed medication?
  • For in-person visits and house calls
When needed, the doctor hands your medication to you directly after the consultation.
  • For online consultations
We send your prescription data to a nearby pharmacy for you to pick up, or arrange delivery of your medication to your home or accommodation.
Can you issue medical certificates?

Yes, we can. As a rule, we issue them within 24 hours of your request.

How are prescriptions and medical certificates sent?

For most people, we digitize them and send them by email. If you prefer, we can also send them via LINE. When you book, we’ll ask which method is easiest for you to receive.

About in-person visits & house calls

When would I need an in-person visit instead of an online one?

For symptoms that are hard to assess accurately through a screen, or situations that require direct palpation or testing, we ask you to come in for an in-person examination.

When an in-person visit is needed, we clearly explain the reason during your online consultation and guide you to visit our clinic, switch to a house call, or get a referral to an appropriate specialist hospital.

Do you make house calls?

Yes, for those who find it difficult to visit us. Details on house calls for travelers in Japan are on the “For Visitors” page. If you live in Japan and would like a house call, please contact us as well.

What happens if my condition is too serious for your clinic to treat?

If we determine that your case requires specialized treatment beyond our scope or emergency transport, we’ll promptly refer you to an appropriate medical institution. Using our network of partner hospitals, we make sure you’re never left to figure out the “next step” on your own.

About privacy & cancellations

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Yes, you can. We don’t charge cancellation fees, so if your plans change, please contact us promptly by phone or online.

Is my personal information properly protected?

Yes. Your medical data and personal information are managed securely, in strict accordance with Japan’s data privacy laws and standards.
